ENTER THE BADLANDS

The farthest reaches of the earth - still held by the lawless ones.

They defend their territory from the old towers - can this army conquer the badlands?

GMTK 2023

This came was submitted for the GMTK game jam 2023, the them is "roles reversed"

My idea was to create a reverse-tower defense game, where you needed to play an RTS game on a tower defense map controlled by an adversary

This was my first jam, so of course I bit off more than I could chew, so that adversary never was implemented ( or dynamic towers being spawned, or multiple tower types, or several other things I daydreamed when I first thought of the prompt 😖 )

Controls

WASD - pan the camera around

R/F - adjust camera height

option - hold to look around, and adjust height by scrolling

click on units to select individual units or click + drag to select multiple units

send your units to a position with right-click OR hold shift + right click to create a formation ( a path you define points along and units will go stand along that path )

select units that are already in a formation by clicking the floating candles that outline the formation
